To use gratitude beads, hold the string of beads in your hand and as you move your fingers from one bead to the next, silently or aloud, state one thing you are grateful for with each bead, essentially using the beads as a physical reminder to focus on positive aspects of your life; this practice can be done during meditation or simply throughout the day. 
Key points about using gratitude beads
Focus on one thing per bead:
As you move through the beads, consciously think of a specific person, experience, or aspect of your life that you are grateful for. 
Intention is key:
  • Set the intention to practice gratitude before you begin touching the beads. 
  • No set mantra required:
    While some people may choose to repeat a specific gratitude phrase with each bead, the most important thing is to genuinely reflect on what you are thankful for. 
  • Flexibility in practice:
    You can use gratitude beads while sitting in meditation, lying down, or even while going about your day.Â
